About Us

Kingston upon Hull Hockey Club (or KuH HC for short) is the only hockey club in Hull which has men’s, ladies and junior sections.

We have over 300 members but are always looking to strengthen our membership and welcome experienced players, those who have never played before, or those who are looking to return after a break from the sport.

Despite being a big club, we are a friendly lot and can cater for the serious, athletic player or those who want to play a social sport whilst getting a bit fitter.

Our main home pitch is at the KC Stadium on Walton Street in Hull where we use a water-based astro but we also use the sand-based pitch at Sirius North on Hall Road for home matches.

Our training sessions all take place at the KC with juniors, ladies and men’s training on Wednesday nights and junior sessions on Saturday mornings. Senior training is free to club members and there is a small fee for junior training.

We are a not for profit club so keep our fees to the minimum but we do have expenses to pay so we are open to offers of sponsorship deals at various rates.

We hope you find what you’re looking for on our website but if you want any other information about us or would like to join, please use the contact us tab at the top and we’ll get back to you.

The club was formed in 2002 from the amalgamation of three clubs – Hull YPI HC, Hull (Welton) Men’s HC, and Welton Ladies HC. Whilst each club was successful in its own right, the City Council wanted them to merge to form a big club to play from the newly built KC Stadium. From these roots we have evolved into what we are today – 3 men’s teams, 4 ladies teams, numerous junior teams at various age groups, plus masters sides for men’s over 50s and ladies over 45s.

Each section is run by its own committee and overseen by an umbrella body.

We are affiliated to England Hockey, North Hockey Association and Yorkshire Hockey Association, and are currently going through the re-accreditation process to Club Mark and England Hockey’s Club’s First badge, which endorses us as a safe and effective child friendly club.
